Salisbury Chamber of Commerce

Why join the Chamber in 2024?

If you are in business locally (or even further out), there is no excuse not to be a member of Salisbury and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Chamber tries to offer a lot as part of it’s membership and is always looking at developing an offering that suits every variety of business.

As a minimum the chamber hosts two events per month, one of these free and included as part of your membership and the other paid but at a subsidised rate.

The free event usually focuses on some form of business education, social or events focussing on micro or macro-economic issues. The last couple of years have created some staple events including;
. A Q&A with the leader of Wiltshire Council
. 2 x updates from John Glen MP following the budget and autumn statement
. A newly introduced annual property event, giving an overview of all areas of property performance locally.

As well as this, the chamber creates business specific events, utilising speakers from the chamber’s network to deliver topics that are pertinent to all businesses, members have experienced topics such as recession proofing, mental health in the workplace and menopause.

Paid events are designed to encourage high levels of attendance, include normally a two course meal and have also involved special guests. Within the last couple of years have seen wine tasting, speed networking, cross chamber connections as well as a dinner with a former England rugby player with plenty more events like this to come!

Salisbury Chamber is the largest independent Chamber of Commerce in Wiltshire and one of the largest across the South West. We are currently around 200 members and represent approximately 55-60% of the working population of Salisbury. The type of business varies considerably, from the largest employers through to one person enterprises. This gives fantastic scope to meet new people.

The Directors of the chamber also act as sector representatives for all members, with a view to present opportunities, help make connections and general sign-posting and problem solving.

Members of the chamber are encouraged to provide news, offers and promotions that will be spread amongst other members. There is a large distribution list that has been created and regular communications are sent out.

If this isn’t enough, the Chamber works on behalf of it’s members to create strategic partnerships including a recent partnership to promote chamber members to Salisbury Hospital’s 5000 members of staff. Additionally, from 2022 an annual business excellence awards was created running each march, celebrating the best of local businesses, exclusive to Salisbury Chamber members and Salisbury Business Improvement District levy payers.

The Chamber values the importance of fostering relationships with schools and colleges and has had a successful schools and enterprise partnership running for several years. And on top of this, Salisbury Young Chamber will be re-launching imminently, focussing on developing the future business leaders.

The Chamber is always looking to expand it’s reach with partnerships being formed with businesses in Wilton and across the Nadder valley, a continuation from a merger between Wilton Chamber of Commerce and Salisbury Chamber several years ago.

Finally and most importantly, following a post Covid shake-up and new flexible way’s of working, the Chamber board is committed to help delivering a modern and dynamic networking platform for organisations to come together, make meaningful connections and do business.

Come and join us and help us shape the future of networking.
