Chamber Participates in Business West Local Skills Improvement Programme Discussion

The Salisbury Chamber of Commerce recently took part in a crucial discussion session as part of the Business West Local Skills Improvement Programme, highlighting the importance of aligning students’ skills and experiences with the needs of local businesses. This collaborative initiative brought together key stakeholders to address skills gaps, enhance workforce development, and foster stronger connections between education and industry.

During the session, representatives from the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce provided valuable insights into the specific skills and experiences that businesses require from prospective employees. By sharing firsthand knowledge and expertise, the Chamber aimed to contribute to the development of targeted skills improvement strategies that benefit both businesses and students.

The session also featured discussions from various training organisations and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), highlighting existing skills improvement programmes available to support workforce development.
