Our History

Over the last 100 years the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce has supported local businesses of all sizes through many exciting and challenging years. By working together and ensuring that we communicate, support and network we keep true to our motto of “Where Business Matters”.

Not only have we celebrated our centenary as an organisation, but as a Chamber we continue to look ahead to the next 100 years by ensuring that we continually adapt to embrace the modern networking facilities such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn – not forgetting our ever popular monthly 90 Minute Networking lunches, plus much more.

Andy North

President

Andy runs a Marketing Technology firm, focusing on helping people to grow their businesses via marketing technology, automation, and digital marketing. Andy has worked with clients including Mercedes, PwC, Meshii, Open University, Boots, Dominos Pizza, as well as helping many startups to scale their operations. 

Andy is also active in the community, chairing various organisations, membership of various charities, and as a Councillor on Downton Parish Council.

Daniel Rhind-Tutt

Dan has always had a passion for business and sales. He started his career at the age of 18 different to others, where instead of taking the typical route of university or work, he started his own sales consultancy taking to market a renowned building product.

After a few years of doing this, he was invited to join Bassets Estate Agents in Salisbury, starting in the residential lettings department before moving to residential sales where he currently works.

He has been involved with Salisbury Chamber since 2013, where he is most commonly known for selling raffle tickets at networking events. In November 2015, he was co-opted on to the Chamber Board of Directors, where he subsequently founded the Young Chamber, focusing on 20-35 year old working or business individuals of any profession, wanting to further themselves.

Dan is extremely passionate about establishing and developing the future of the Young Chamber.

Tim Scrace

Vice President, Marketing Team Leader

Tim is an Architect, Artist and Creative Entrepreneur. Scrace Architects, which operates from Salisbury, is building a reputation as a practice with ambition and artistic and architectural vision. Working collaboratively, the practice aims to ensure that each of their projects stands out and offers something special.

Tim enjoys documenting spaces and engaging with the environment. Through his practice he looks to challenge the norm by abstracting the world around him, painting to see and shape space differently.

Tim believes in the power of creativity and would love to see Salisbury’s heritage and rich pool of artistic talent supported and celebrated. In his new role Tim is keen to promote the work and purpose of cultural and creative businesses in the city. If you have an exciting project in mind, please get in touch.

Gareth Robertson

Director

Gareth Robertson is a graphic designer from Lichfield, Staffordshire. He established his first graphic design company, in 2012 and went on to grow the business over the next eight years while based in the Midlands. 

Gareth relocated family and business from the Midlands to the vibrant South West region in Salisbury during the lockdown in summer of 2020. He takes a role within the events team and supports the marketing team with graphic design support. His focus is on helping the Chamber deliver top class events that allow members to connect, network and do business.

Mark Baulch

Events Assistant

Mark has been involved with Chambers of Commerce since 2014 when he joined Hampshire Chamber of Commerce. He brings his experience from there to the Board, with a regional, national and international view on transport, logistics and many other sectors.

An experienced relationship manager with a demonstrated history of working in the information services industry, he is skilled in Negotiation, Business Planning, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Event Management, and People Management. 

A strong community and social services professional with a varied working background which allows the understanding of multiple sectors and businesses, he now manages his own business which predominantly provides services into the motorsport sector.

Andy Rhind-Tutt

Secretary

Andy Rhind-Tutt is married to Becky. They have four teenage children and both live and work in and around Amesbury, Salisbury & district. Andy is passionate about the community.

He has been a local councillor and school governor for over 14 years and was Mayor of Amesbury in 2011-12. He is also a Rotarian, devoting much of his time to charity work, helping others less fortunate and raising funds for the Rotary Club to distribute locally. In 2005 he took three months off work to arrange a fund raising event at Wilton House, where 613 guests helped raise over £54,000 for local causes. In excess of £30,000 of this money went towards lifesaving cancer equipment for Salisbury District Hospital. 

Andy is proud to have been awarded the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship by Rotary International for his dedication to charity. Andy is the Founder of the Amesbury Museum and Heritage Trust, which he established in April 2012 to encourage visitors to the area to see the important civilian and military heritage of the town and the reason for Stonehenge.

Karen Clarkson

Director, Events Team Leader

Karen has worked in legal marketing for over 12 years and made the move to Parker Bullen LLP in 2022.  Leading the marketing and business development activities for the firm, she was keen to involve herself in the Chamber from the outset, regularly attending events before joining the Board.  

A regular networking attendee and with a passion for delivering useful and engaging events, Karen is a part of the Events planning group while also bringing insights to the group following her years working at Dorset Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Byron Logue

Director

Byron runs a national security equipment firm out of Amesbury where he assists the largest security companies in the UK with selecting the right technology for their needs.

Byron has worked on 3 continents and has over 20 years of experience in international business and marketing. Byron moved his business to the Salisbury/Amesbury area in 2023 and is active in the local community.

Byron is also well known within the UK security community and is the Editor of Infologue Security News and often judges prestige competitions such as the British Security Awards and the Amulets.

Maggie Fowler

Apprenticeships and Youth Employment Consultant

In retirement, Maggie wanted to use the experience she had in both business and in education to help organisations and young people engage with apprenticeships and other workplace training. She became an Apprenticeship Ambassador and joined the Chamber Board as their Apprenticeship and Youth Employment Consultant. To help students, parents and teachers understand the local apprenticeship offering, she established ‘Apprenticeships in Salisbury’ a website that showcases all the local employers that regularly take on apprentices or graduate trainees.  Young people considering their career options can find out what will be available when they leave school or college. With support from the Swindon and Wiltshire Career’s Hub, Apprenticeships in Salisbury runs the annual Salisbury Apprenticeships Fair and produces the Salisbury Apprenticeships and Early Careers Directory.
